Happy 4th of July: "To enslave ideas, ideals, idealism, to torture imagination, dissent, argument, to take the life of belief, hope, free will, begins with the, uh, imprisonment of free speech, the free pursuit of the truth, and the freedom to report the truth." "When freedom is intellectualized it can be mitigated by intellectual method; made less, and less, and less, and less... when understood by the heart, freedom is inviolable."
I've authored this blog for five years: I'm going to let it rest for awhile... All material is original unless otherwise noted. (edited 11/4/19) My short story the Horse and the Cowboy was published by Greg McCartney in the June edition of The Honest Ulsterman, in Northern Ireland. The photo is by Caitlin O'Kendley, my daughter. I appreciated the work Greg... Any further posts will be less about a creative blog site and more about keeping the blog semi-active until it fades away. There is so much pain in the quote I've read above. I feel sad towards people who had been deprived by their freedom of speech and their rights to express their feelings. By just imagining the thought hurts me, what more if they will do it towards me? No one deserves to be deprived by their desire to express themselves in the way they want. People who do this thing should always watch their words.

Kevin O'Kendley is the owner of Carbuncle Moon, and the author of all original material -- cartoons, blogs, shorts, essays, articles -- on the website. All quoted sources are noted. I am responsible for all posts. The only blogs not time-dated are those advertising nonprofits. All nonprofits were vetted, investigated, though the summer of 2018. The vetting lapsed in some cases afterwards or until the last blog on May, 31, 2021.
Kevin O'Kendley: [email protected]. Technical help was provided by a computer genius, my son, Conor O'Kendley. Photography was provided by a visual artist, my daughter, Caitlin O'Kendley. If your nonprofit is advertised on this site and you wish to have it removed please contact me at the above listed email address or use the contact form on the website. If you download a blog, cartoon, a short story -- or for any other reason -- and wish to donate $ to this site, its author and technical support personnel, please send donations payable to Kevin O'Kendley, 499 Broadway #138, Bangor, Maine 04401. My family and I could use the dinero. All cartoons, blogs, and short stories are for sale. Categories |
